Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back for Term 2. We have certainly ‘hit the ground running’ with our Athletics Carnival last week and Mother’s Day stall and Liturgy this week.

A big thank you to Miss Slade and the whole staff for their efforts in putting together the Athletics Carnival. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t kind to us but the children had a great day nonetheless. Hopefully next year we will have beautiful Autumn weather!

Trophies and ribbons for the Athletics carnival will be awarded at a special afternoon assembly when the trophies arrive. We will give parents plenty of notice that the assembly is to be held.

Mother’s Day

As we gather to celebrate Mother's Day, I am reminded of the profound love and sacrifice that mothers embody, much like Mary, the Mother of God. Mary's unwavering faith and devotion serve as a beacon of hope and strength for us all. She accepted God's will with grace and humility, nurturing Jesus with boundless love and guiding Him as He grew up.

The late Pope Francis had a special regard for Mary, often highlighting her role as a mother who understands our joys and sorrows. He once said, "Mary is the one who helps us grow, face life, and be free." Her maternal care and intercession are a source of comfort and inspiration, reminding us of the importance of maternal love in our lives.

My own mum is the loving heart of our family. She has always been a pillar of strength and compassion, teaching me the values of kindness, patience, and resilience. I remember during hard times growing up it was often Mum who ‘went without’ so that we could have what we needed. She always showed us unwavering support and love, and I have tried to emulate this with my own family.

As we honour all mothers this weekend, let us remember the incredible impact they have on our lives. Their love, guidance, and sacrifices are the foundation upon which we build our futures. I hope you all have the opportunity to spoil your Mums (or those who are like a Mum to you) and show your appreciation and love for them.

Citizenship news!

Congratulations and an official Aussie welcome to the Linson family (Anliya Year 6 and Alina 1B) who recently became Australian Citizens! What a beautiful photo!  

Parking

Please be mindful of our neighbours in surrounding streets when parking. Avoid parking across driveways or ‘double parking’ in streets as this is a danger to the children.

Animals on Site

Animals are prohibited on site unless they are registered support animals (like Milo), service animals or part of a pre-arranged demonstration or performance.

Transition to Winter Uniform

All children should be wearing winter uniform by the beginning of Week 4 – Tuesday 20^th May.

Girls’ Winter Uniform:

White short or long sleeve shirt with crest, worn with:

• Red check pinafore, worn as a dress or as a skirt (without the bib front) with heavy denier stockings

Or

• Red check winter skort with grey heavy denier stockings

Or

• Long charcoal pants (female fit)

PLEASE NOTE: new style girls pants are now available at Lowes. Tights should not be worn. Sheer stockings should not be worn.

Boys’ Winter Uniform

Blue short or long sleeve shirt with crest, worn with:

• Long grey pants

PLEASE NOTE: Cargo pants, pants with pockets on outside of legs, tracksuit pants should not be worn.

SPORT UNIFORM (Both genders) School sports shirt, school jacket with emblem, black track pants.

EXTRA WARMTH:

• A white or black long sleeved layer may be worn under the sport shirt.
• Extra sloppy joe without crest may be worn as a middle layer under jacket.

SCHOOL HAT is worn all year round.
